Everything is loaded into a 16' cube truck- we originally booked a 10' foot truck (because according to Budget, that's what our move required). Luckily we were bumped up to 16' (due to a lack of 10' trucks returned to Rexburg) because it is FULL! For all you (Inc. Scott) who will just say we have too much stuff, you are wrong. Budget just under-estimated. Also, with a 16' truck we can tow the car instead of me driving behind the truck...
We are leaving in the morning for Memphis and will make it at least 12 hours to Cortez, CO where we will spend the night.Hopefully the roads and weather will be good and the large vehicle won't add too much to our time. This first leg of the trip will be the one with the worst weather, or so we think. With snow in FLORIDA?! it's hard to know what to expect. On Tuesday we will venture 14 hours to Oklahoma City and then a mere 7.25 hours on Wednesday to Collierville!
We have been staying at Kathy's so I could finish my last week of work. It has been very busy this week getting the truck booked, finalizing the apartment in Collierville and searching for a washer and dryer for when we arrive. We finally found a 2 year old Maytag Atlantis set for only 350! The family opened a B&B in a nearby town in Mississippi and purchased a new commercial set. And they deliver- Bonus! I'm excited to finally own a washer and dryer!
I'm sure Kathy will be glad to get her house back and finally have room to breathe in her basement, living room and garage. We are sure grateful to her for letting us camp out at her place or else we would be sleeping in the car!
We will keep you posted and update you on our arrival!
Hopefully I can actually keep this thing updated, but no promises....
How exciting!! I remember when we got our first washer and dryer - it was heavenly. Good luck!! :)
